Carp FishingFrom Chapter 3. An Introduction to Carp FishingLocation and Feeding HabitsLOCATION OF CARP IN SUMMER Having made your choice of water on which you hope to catch
your first or maybe your next carp, your first move on arrival should be to
leave the tackle in your car and take a slow walk around the whole water to get
to know its make-up.
The activity of feeding is generally related to the most productive location of food. This may vary at different times of the season but it is vital to remember that the deepest channel or section of water on a given lake or pit is most likely to hold the lowest concentrations of natural food items as the development of all aquatic life is dependent on light and temperature. Do not fall into the trap of fishing swims only where you have seen fish caught, for you are already too late. Look for feeding areas and fish them; the carp may never have seen a bait in the chosen area and take your baits confidently straight away and throughout the season! The location of weed beds, islands, shallows, visible bars, channels, bays, etc., is important as all of these may come into play at various times of the day and in various conditions. Once you are walking you should look for signs of carp that may be showing themselves by rolling or swimming near the .......
